LS-NaI(Tl) Counting System

The liquid-scintillation (LS) - NaI(Tl) coincidence/anticoincidence system inside the lead cave shield. A phototube is housed in the brass cylinder upon which, in the counting configuration, a hemispherical source, shown in front is placed. An inverted Na(Tl) is moved in place from the top so as to enclose the source thus providing high geometrical factors for both detected radiations from the source -- such as beta particles by LS counting and gamma rays by NaI(Tl) counting.
